Incentive Program THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAM: is to give our Team Captain’s and Division Representatives a “thank you” for helping us maintain our league in the most efficient manner possible. It is also designed to help increase our team count (you will notice that the highest points are awarded for signing up new teams). We have a very large territory to cover, so instead of trying to do it all by ourselves and/or hiring a full-time salesperson (which just hasn’t proven effective) we have decided to give you, the team captains and division representatives, an opportunity to see what you can do to help make the APA Pool League the best game in town. You can just do the basics and earn enough incentive points to pay your membership or weekly team fees or you can be an aggressive salesperson and earn cues, jackets, trips and more.
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS: enclosed you will find a list of ways to earn incentive points. Incentive points will be awarded as soon as we are notified of the tasks you have completed, except as noted. You will receive an incentive point certificate listing the amount of points awarded and the reason for the points. Save up the individual certificates until you have earned enough o “pay” for the prize you want. Complete the form entitled “Incentive Redemption Form”, attach your certificates to the form and send in to the league office. In most cases you will have your prize in 10 days. Some thins that we have to send out for may take longer. Plus, there will be multiple opportunities to “purchase” exhibited items at our local league functions.
WHAT CAN I EARN?: The possibilities are endless. Attached you will find a list of potential prizes and their incentive pints costs, but that is just a start. Actually you can spend your incentive points on most anything imaginable. Purchasing items at the Cue Ball in Salem or On The Wire Billiard Headquarters, incentive points are equal to one dollar retail. If an item there is priced at $50 then you pay 50 incentive points. Purchases elsewhere such as gift certificates to Restaurants, Motels Airlines, etc, incentive points are redeemed at approximately .65 cents on the dollar. This means a $65 Gift Certificate will cost 100 incentive points. Simply tell us what you want to do and we will arrange to make it happen. If you’re slightly short of having enough incentive points you are allowed to make up the difference in cash. The only thing we ask, is that you give us enough advance notice (trips may need as much as 30 days) and have enough incentive points. We can do just about anything your heart desires except that – WE WILL NOT REDEEM INCENTIVE POINTS FOR CASH! YOU MUST USE INCENTIVE POINTS IN CONJUNCTION WITH PURCHASING GOODS OR SERVICES.

REDEMPTION GUIDE 1 Point For each week that team envelopes are turned in or mailed on time and the money is correct inside. This is in addition to the BONES POINTS that your team earns. For posting (In a highly visible area please) The LEAGUE POSTER, SIGNUP SHEET, and a copy of the Division Team Schedule (by the Bartender’s Telephone if Possible) in your own host location. 3 Points will be awarded, for posting in a HOST LOCATION other than your own which in NOT currently in the League System. IN CASE OF DUPLICATION incentive points will be awarded to the first person who contacts the League Office. 2 Points For each merchant discount obtained. Merchant discount agreement must be completed and Merchant Discount sticker must be applied to front door or window. For Name, Street Address, Mailing address, phone number and the person to contact of any new host location not currently in our data base. In case of duplication incentive points will be awarded to the first person to contact the league office with this information. 3 Points For turning in SPORTSMANSHIP BALLOT, (With at least 5 votes) by the designated deadline. 1 point if turned in after the deadline. 0 points if turned in too late to count. For attending the information meeting. For serving on a committee (Handicap review, Executive Planning, or tournament and Special Events). For various survey questionnaires RETURNED AND FILLED OUT by the designated deadline. 1 point if returned after deadline, but 0 points if returned too late to count…! For special deliveries and communiqués. 5 Points For serving on a decision with the Board of Governor’s. For serving as a Tournament Referee or in some other related staff function. For Monitoring the start of a new team during their first night of play. Teaching them proper procedure, rules, and score-keeping. (The person monitoring must be well versed in APA Rules and League Policies). For merchandise or service donation(s) equaling a retail value of $10 or more which can be used as door prizes for special league events. For PRE-registering your team PRIOR to the next information meeting…! For prepaying the last week of the SESSION by WEEK #3..! For having all membership dues turned in with COMPLETED membership applications by the 3rd week of Play or 10 points for having membership dues in with COMPLETED membership applications turned in the very first night of play. REMEMBER --- ALL MEMBERSHIPS MUST BE PAID BY THE 4TH WEEK…! 10 Points For serving as Tournament Director for each singles qualifier board successfully run. (Based on full 8 Person Boards). 15 Points For PRE-REGISTERING your team & PRE-PAYING your team deposit for next session’s play prior to the Division Playoff’s of the current session. 35 Points For each NEW TEAM you personally sign up. This is IN ADDITION to your own ACTIVE team. Leaving your old team that stays and plays while you strike out on your own and form a new team is countable. (Incentive points will be awarded after the 6th week of session play if the new team is still active, has paid all their membership dues to APA, and is current with their weekly team fees). 150 Points For developing a complete division of at least 6 “Brand New Teams”. The division (Moving or In-house) may be specialized to attract a specific group such as Seniors Only, Ladies Only, Non smokers, Corporation employees, or any other group you think would like to join up and make teams. Points will be awarded after the 6th week of play and will be in addition to the 35 per team incentive points. (Contact the League Office for more information on how to form a corporate division…!).
INCENTIVE POINTS: May be accumulated as long as you remain an active captain or division representative in good standing. Once leaving your post even if just taking a session off all accumulated incentive points must be used within on session from leaving or they will be voided. Play Summer, take off Fall, return Spring, points are still good. Don’t sing up for Spring and points are no longer good.

One person team fee $6=9 points Note: May use up to $60 worth of incentive points per team per session Trip for 2 to Las Vegas (3 nights) $500=769 points Captain/Co-Captain tournament entry $15=23 points Entry into the Chinook Winds tournament $150=231 points New cue (Retail Value) $295=454 points Note: If purchased through the Cue Ball or On The Wire Billiard Headquarters 295 points New cue case (Retail Value) $125=192 points Red Dot cue ball $12.95=13 points The above items are merely suggestions and /or guidelines and many items may go up or down in price sometimes from day to day. There are a lot of the items that you pay part in incentive points and the remaining balance in cash. 2 Piece Pool Cues for example can be purchased from a low – low cheap end of $20 right on up to top of the line custom’s valued upwards pats $1000. Cue cases are the same as cues which means their value runs from a low of about $5 to a high value of $200-$300. Let us know what it is you would like and we will make every effort to accommodate. Pool supplies and equipment purchased from the incentive program will be obtained from the CUE BALL, 1262 State Street in Salem. Make an appointment for a showing only through the League Office in order to get the best value for your incentive points. On The Wire Billiard Headquarters will take your incentive points there.
